Häagen-Dazs (pronounced /ˈhɑːɡəndɑːs/) is a brand of ice cream, established by Polish immigrants Reuben and Rose Mattus in the Bronx, New York, in 1961. Starting with only three flavors: vanilla, chocolate, and coffee, the company opened its first retail store in Brooklyn, NY, on November 15, 1976 and then offered franchises throughout the United States and 54 other countries around the world. Häagen-Dazs produces ice cream, ice cream bars, ice cream cakes, sorbet and frozen yogurt. The company that sells Häagen-Dazs products in the US is located in Oakland, California.

The ice cream comes in many different flavors and is a "super-premium" brand, meaning it is quite dense (very little air is mixed in during manufacture), uses no emulsifiers or stabilizers other than egg yolks, and has a high butterfat content. Häagen-Dazs is also meant to be kept at a temperature that is substantially lower than most ice creams in order to keep its intended firmness. It is sold both in grocery stores and in dedicated retail outlets serving ice cream cones, sundaes, and so on.

Ben & Jerry's is an American ice cream company, a division of the British-Dutch Unileverconglomerate, that manufactures ice cream, frozen yogurt, sorbet, and ice cream novelty products, manufactured by Ben & Jerry's Homemade Holdings, Inc., headquartered in South Burlington, Vermont, United States, with the main factory in Waterbury. It is best known as an ice cream brand, founded in 1978 in Burlington, Vermont.

In April 2000, Ben & Jerry's announced its acquisition by British-Dutch multinational food giant Unilever.

Clarke's Ice Cream Parlor


In December 1899, Clarke's Ice Cream Parlor became the first ice cream parlor in the Philippines when it opened its store at Plaza Moraga in Binondo, Manila. Metcalf Clarke owned it. Since there was no refrigerator in the Philippines at that time, ice was usually imported from abroad.

Magnolia Dairy Ice Cream is a Filipino brand that includes unusual tropical flavors and is sold domestically in the Philippines and in other markets such as Thailand, the United States, Australia, Malaysia, and Singapore. Magnolia is a division of San Miguel Corporation, a food and beverage company and corporate conglomerate.The Magnolia brand was relaunched by San Miguel in the Philippines in 2004 after a five year hiatus. San Miguel has a dominant presence in other dairy products such as margarine and also sells cheese, soda and San Miguel beer.

Upon reintroduction rocky road, cookies and cream, dulce de leche and double dutch were added as "gold label" flavors. In 2008 the company introduced Coffee Vienna and Waffle Cheesecake for the Christmas holidays. Flavors like purple taro ice cream, are said to be especially refreshing, and one reviewer compared it to cookies-and-cream.
